Dr Haydon Mort
Dr Haydon Mort is a global leader in geocommunication and is the founder and CEO of Geologize Ltd. A geologist with over 15 years of research and lecturing experience, he has lived and worked in 4 countries. He started Geologize in 2016 by using neuroscience to create highly engaging social media content for the general public about the Earth Sciences. He also gives public talks which inspire the audience to feel connected to the natural world and consults for global charities and industry. In his free time he enjoys running, acting, playing the piano and being with his wife and three children, aged 5, 8 and 16.

Some questions we get asked a lot.

What is the teaching method?
Each lesson begins with a big question to get your neurons firing. Then comes the lesson itself. The lesson always includes at least one practical activity in the middle or near the end. There are often assignments (not compulsory) and quizzes to test for understanding of essential elements.

How long will it take me to do it?
You can work through the course at your own pace. However, if you wished to work on the course intensely, completing the work as required, you could probably finish in around 10 hours.

Is there a certificate available at the end?
Absolutely. Upon completion of the course (the main video lessons are compulsory elements), you will be provided with a personalised certificate with the logos of Geologize, The Geological Society of London and the European Federation of Geologists.

Where can I get help paying for the course?
Students can enter the code 'GeologizeStudent' to apply a 30% discount on the course price. Members of the Geological Society of London and the European Federation of Geologists can obtain a 20% discount. If you are still unable to access the course, please get in touch and we can arrange a staggered payment plan for you.
